Bloom Cloud Engine floating license activation

With Floating Software Activation, you must first activate and install the Floating License Server on a computer on your network. Once installed and activated, the server has a "pool" of "license leases", the maximum number of instances of Bloom Cloud Engine that can run at any given time. Then you can install Bloom Cloud Engine on as many computers as you want.

When a user launches Bloom Cloud Engine, the following happens:

  1. Bloom Cloud Engine tries to connect to the Floating License Server that the you activated and installed on your network. If your Bloom Cloud Engine can successfully connect to the Floating License Server, it requests a "license lease" from the Floating License Server. One of two things will happen:

a) If there's 1 or more "license leases" left in the "pool" then Bloom Cloud Engine will get that "license lease". This also means there will be one less "license lease" left in the "pool".

b) If there are 0 "license leases" left in the "pool" then Bloom Cloud Engine will not be able to start.

  1. When the user closes Bloom Cloud Engine it releases that "license lease" back into the "pool" so that it can be used by other users in that network.
